Kangaroo is an innovative system for providing real-time video streaming and video-on-demand services to end users. With its P2P architecture, Kangaroo provides a full set of interactive video functionalities such as rewinding (or jumping to) past scenes of a live television program or viewing them again. All of this is possible using P2P technologies.

Software Defined Radio technologies make it possible to use radio communications to be able to use any radio communications standard. One example of this is the use of the same mobile telephone on networks using UMTS, WiMax or other standards, without having to change telephone, simply by changing its software.
The OMEGA system is a support system for supervising networks in the field of quality assurance. Its function is to carry out ongoing monitoring of Telefónica networks, attending to any incident on the network and repairing it automatically.

Real-time rating systems aim to provide information about the cost of a service at the exact moment this is being used.
Since 2000, Telefónica I+D has collaborated with Telefónica S.A and Telefónica Foundation in preparing the Reports on the Information Society in Spain. During this time, Telefónica I+D’s team has handled the technical content of a total of 14 reports (9 in reference to Spain, one in reference to Europe, and two in reference to Latin America, and two sectorial studies, one of which was healthcare-related, whilst the other dealt with Local Administration in Spain).
